April--
I really enjoyed reading your list of things that summarize your Romanian experience. Your attention to detail helped me see and feel it as best as I could from another hemisphere. You are spending your time there quite unamericanized and in a very worthwhile manner. I tripped on the cobblestones while I was there, too. I asked my Romanian friend about Ciorba. She said she misses it. She tried to make it once here but it wasn't the same at all, so drink it up along with all of your other experiences.

At first M. & I thought the little house/store thing behind the cart was part of the cart too! :) One big cart for that poor lone horse. :) - jm
is there a carrot in front of that horse?
It's nice to see how other cultures are coping with these high gas prices.
